  I'm Packed for Delta

I am all packed and ready to go to Delta. Ted's coming by arund noon. I've never gotten there on Thrusday before, so it will be nice to get there and get settled in. I am looking forward to getting out in the country for a long weekend, away from phones and television. It will be great to play, and I am looking forward to meeting new guys and having some new and memorable experiences. I am also looking forward to breaking in some of my newest gear, including the rubber suit. I am also looking forward to seeing Mars!

  Getting Ready for Delta

I had lunch this week with my friend Gil, and it was great to catch up on things with him as I hadn't seen him for a while. I showed him my mouth (he noticed the gap between my two front teeth immediately) and he was absolutely fascinated by the hyrex expander device and how that whole thing worked. After lunch we went candle shopping. I want to do a hot wax scene at Delta, so I got some small white ones and some large black ones. It will be fun to initiate someone into the Brotherhood of the Flame. Anyway, I have begun to mentally pack and this weekend and early next week I will begin to put the gear and toys together. There's always so much to pack for Delta.

Today I am going to go cycling with my buddy Jay, and then hopefully shopping for boots.

I'm a True New Yorker Now!

Having lived through my first blackout, I feel that I am now a true New Yorker. I was at work when the power went out at 4:11 pm on Thursday. We couldn't figure out what was going on, but looking out the window, we could see people congregating outside on the streets in front of office buildings, so we knew this was something affecting more than just our floor or our building. Nobody's cell phone worked, but I was able to tune in radio news on my discman. They said power was out all over New York City, upstate, in other parts of the East Coast, in Ohio and also in Canada. So this was major. We all gathered in the reception area and prepared to begin the walk down the stairs. Nineteen floors down. Nobody had a flashlight. Mindy, an older, frail woman who works on our floor, slowed us down considerably. When we got down to the street, it was a sea of humanity. I can only describe it as calm chaos. I walked home, listening to the radio on my portable device, and it took me twice as long due to the crazy traffic and the increased pedestrian traffic. People were very calm. Several citizens were directing traffic, with various levels of results. When I got home I checked in with some of my neighbors. The lights did not come back on in my Gramercy Park neighborhood for 27 hours. I had to throw away a lot of food. I ate canned soup. Late Friday I went for a walk, and when I got several blocks away I heard people cheering, like at a football game, and realized the lights had gone back on. It was so wonderful to see the traffic lights again. I went home and enjoyed the lights, the TV and my computer. The authorities had asked people not to run AC's in an effort to conserve energy, but when I saw on TV that all the lights in Times Square were on full blast, I said fuck it and turned on my AC.

  Hanging Out With Andy

Andy came over yesterday, and we went for protein shakes (protein is very important for me these days, as I need to grow new bone in my jaw), then we went shopping for gear. First we went to Weiss & Mahoney, where we tried on pants and jackets. Andy got a pair of pants and a pair of shorts, and I got two BDU pants (black and olive drab) and a skinhead jacket. I was tempted by some boots, but decided to wait on those.

The Suit

Then we went to Purple Passion/DV8, where my replacement rubber suit had finally arrived. I tried it on, and it fit great. This suit is slightly different from the original suit I had. It is shoulder entry, with zippers on the shoulders, and then a zipper at the crotch. It was difficult getting the suit on in the store with powder, but when I got home I was able to put it on without too much trouble with lube. I even managed to get into the suit on my own without any help. I kept it on all evening, and "christened" it before I went to sleep. I am happy with the way the new suit looks and feels. It was definitely worth the wait for something that I am happy with. And they gave me a gift certificate as a gesture of goodwill for having to wait so long. That was nice of them, and I will return there soon for a rubber hood or gag, or perhaps even some wesco boots I've had my eye on.

Delta Is a Go, Despite the Mouth

I have decided to attend Delta again this year. I am sending in my money tomorrow. I'll be in the New York cabin again, I think H-9. I am looking forward to it. I only hope that my mouth is feeling better by then and that I am able to handle more types of foods at that time. Right now, things with my mouth are difficult, and last week my dentists and doctors told me that my upper jaw will have to be wired for three to six more months. This is a change from the two to three months I was expecting. Sort of like being left in bondage longer than I had been expecting. The metal device in my mouth is definitely a form of bondage.

  Long Time Away

I have not been keeping up with my blog lately. Since I had my jaw surgery two and a half weeks ago, I just haven't been up for it. In fact, I haven't had much sexual energy at all. Now that I have finished with the "activating turns" on the jaw expander in the roof of my mouth, I am hoping that I will start to feel better soon. I can't wait to get back to the gym, to get back on my bike, and to eat like a normal person again.

Delta or No?

I am trying to decide if I am going to go to Delta or not. I still have not sent in my form and money. I am not sure I will be up for it or not, with this mouth stuff going on. Eating there is always such a hassle to begin with, with the terrible food and all. And with the expander cemented into the roof of my mouth I am not sure how I would fare. I also have to make a trip home to Michigan, so perhaps I will skip Delta and go to see my family instead. I want to make up my mind in the next few days.
